Overview
This position requires a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 2 to 3 years of experience in the plastics processing industry. Work is performed on site in a plastic products manufacturing environment characterized by noise, odors, dust, and dirt. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Brantford, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Assist machine operators and assemblers during the manufacturing process
- Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment to ensure smooth operation
- Transport materials and tools between work areas efficiently
- Prepare raw materials for mixing processes according to specifications
- Monitor machines for jams or defective products and report issues promptly
- Adjust calender rollers and change dies on extruding machines for production line changes
- Weigh resins, colorants, and chemicals precisely following formulation cards
- Operate mixing machines to blend plastics and chemicals to required consistency and viscosity
- Unload mixtures into containers or conveyors for further processing
- Operate forklifts safely to move materials as needed
- Assist with machine operation, repair, and maintenance tasks
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
Requirements
- Fluent in English
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- 2 to 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience
- Ability to work in noisy, dusty, and odorous environments
- Willingness to work shifts including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime
- Must be physically able to perform manual labor tasks
- Forklift operation experience is an asset
