Job description
The Security Strategy Research Institute of Japan is seeking a skilled Political & Foreign Affairs Consultant to join our team in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. This full-time role offers the opportunity to influence international relations and political strategies through comprehensive analysis and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth political analysis and research to deliver strategic recommendations.
- Monitor geopolitical trends and assess their impact on foreign policy decisions.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Engage with government officials, NGOs, and other stakeholders to gather critical insights.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop consultancy proposals for civil and governmental projects.
- Present research findings at workshops and seminars to internal teams and external audiences.
- Evaluate and refine the effectiveness of implemented political strategies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in interpreting complex data.
- Experience in political analysis and research methodologies.
- Proficiency in relevant software and research tools.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in political consulting or a related field.
This role requires close collaboration with a diverse team of political analysts and researchers, ensuring alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives. The position is based in Cape Town and is not eligible for remote work.
