Job description
The Security Strategy Research Institute of Japan is seeking a Political & Foreign Affairs Consultant for a full-time, on-site role in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. In this position, you will deliver political analysis and strategic insights for civil and government projects, supporting informed decisions on international relations and public affairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Research political developments and provide evidence-based recommendations to clients.
- Track geopolitical trends and assess their implications for foreign policy.
- Prepare reports and presentations that communicate findings and strategies to senior stakeholders.
- Consult with stakeholders, including government officials and NGOs, to gather insights.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop consultancy proposals for client projects.
- Present research at workshops and seminars for internal and external audiences.
- Evaluate implemented strategies and recommend adjustments when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
- At least five years of relevant experience in political consulting or a similar field.
- Experience with political analysis and research methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency with relevant research tools and software.
Work Environment
Work closely with a diverse team of political analysts and researchers, aligning analysis and recommendations with the institute’s objectives. The position is based in Cape Town and is not remote eligible.
Compensation and Employment
