About the role
Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company. As a Principal System Quality Engineer, you will help ensure products meet high quality standards by investigating and resolving issues.
The role reviews statements of work, requests for proposals, design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and manuals to understand product scope, requirements, and function.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and support to customers, suppliers, and employees in resolving issues.
- Help improve manufacturing, process, and product efficiency to reduce nonconforming products.
- Ensure products meet organizational and customer quality and product integrity requirements.
- Support product development or operations teams with analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
- Lead cross-functional teams to determine the root cause of failures.
- Identify when failure analysis is necessary and recommend corrective measures.
- Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects and help prevent recurrence and future defects.
Requirements
- Subject matter expertise in quality standards and principles, with knowledge and experience across multiple technical disciplines.
