Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist – Senior

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of privacy principles, security concepts, and relevant legislation (FIPPA, MFIPPA, PHIPA).
• Hands-on experience leading, managing, or supporting PIAs within the public sector.
• Ability to research, interpret, and apply privacy laws, IPC jurisprudence, and risk countermeasures.
• Ideal candidate should have PIA/Privacy experience within the digital/IT platforms.
• Prior OPS or public sector exp.
• Deep understanding of privacy/security concepts, trends, and compliance impacts.
• Expertise applying FIPPA, MFIPPA, PHIPA, PIPEDA, and US PATRIOT Act knowledge.
• Experience with public sector PIAs and OPS PIA tools/processes.
• Knowledge of records management, retention, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with IT security, IT system design, business architecture, risk management, and project management.
• Strong operational program, business design, and systems knowledge.
• Proven ability to lead PIA creation, facilitate input, and work cross-functionally with technical/legal teams.
• Proficient in creating and interpreting data flow and business process diagrams.
• Strong communication and analytical skills for assessing access and privacy implications.
