Job description

Procurement Specialist – Perishable DTC Food & CPG Remote-Friendly | Pacific Time Overlap Required | Reports to: Chef of Staff – Ops & Supply Chain About Methodology Methodology is an 8-figure food-as-medicine company with a vertically integrated operation including our own production kitchen, courier network, and national shipping programs. We serve busy, ambitious customers who invest in food that genuinely improves their well-being. Vertically integrated: In-house kitchen, logistics, fulfillment, plus farming and packaging partners. You will oversee the full supply chain from vendor quotes to customer delivery. Profitable and disciplined: We prioritize tight unit economics and operational excellence over growth at all costs. High bar, low drama: Our team values clear thinking, data-driven decisions, accountability, and direct communication above titles or politics. Role Overview As a Procurement Specialist, your mission is to ensure the right materials are in the right place, at the right time and cost, avoiding preventable emergencies. You will manage weekly ordering and inventory for cold-chain and food packaging, support warehouse and 3PL partner relationships, and continuously re-benchmark the market to improve pricing and specifications. This is a hands-on, spreadsheet-intensive role without an ERP system. You will operate and enhance Google Sheets, trackers, and playbooks that must remain accurate, clean, and easy to use for backups. Key Responsibilities Maintain par levels and weeks-of-cover for packaging SKUs including liners, ice packs, corrugate, jars, lids, labels, and inserts across HQ and 3PL locations. Place weekly and monthly purchase orders with clear cadence, ensuring accurate lead times and delivery dates visible to operations and warehouse teams. Track inbound shipments, reconcile receipts with purchase orders and vendor packing lists, and resolve discrepancies promptly. Support vendor relationship management and negotiate pricing and terms to optimize cost and quality. Collaborate closely with warehouse and 3PL partners to ensure smooth logistics and inventory flow. Continuously analyze market trends and supplier performance to recommend improvements. Qualifications Experience in procurement, preferably in perishable food, DTC, or CPG industries. Strong spreadsheet and data management skills; proficiency with Google Sheets required. Highly organized with excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work remotely with Pacific Time overlap. Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $3200 per year Employment Type: Full-time Location: Remote-friendly with preference for candidates able to overlap Pacific Time hours.
