Product Design Engineer in Downingtown, PA

We offer an 8-hour workday with flexible scheduling options once you are established. Some employees prefer 9-hour days plus a half-day Friday. Part-time schedules of 25-30 hours per week are also considered. Benefits apply for schedules exceeding 35 hours weekly. This position is on-site and not remote.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CAD designer with experience in product design and detailing. This role blends design, engineering, and practical craftsmanship understanding to deliver client-focused solutions. Adaptability and flexibility across diverse projects are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 2D and 3D models and detailed shop drawings for customer approvals and production.
• Design, plan, and develop documents and methods for conceptual and interpretive drafting of design-build or plan/spec projects.
• Research and prepare design documents ensuring accuracy and adequacy.
• Produce sketches, models, and blueprints to guide product fabrication.
• Manage technical drawings and CAD files, creating new models and updating existing ones.
• Detail mechanical parts and prepare drawings for external suppliers and vendors.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, architects, and engineers to interpret sketches and specifications.
• Calculate material dimensions, requirements, and limitations.
• Provide technical support and assist in setting up production methods as needed.
• Document and develop new and existing heavy metalwork (HMW) projects.

Work Environment & Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Flexible scheduling is available after onboarding. Part-time options (25-30 hours/week) are considered but do not include benefits.
