Professional Dog Trainer

Tasks

• Use positive, reward-based training methods and prioritize each dog’s safety, comfort, and well-being
• Create personalized training plans based on each dog’s temperament, behavior, and family goals
• Provide engaging, professional, and effective in-home training sessions
• Clearly explain training techniques and give owners practical tools they can consistently use between sessions
• Track progress, communicate updates, and adjust training plans as needed
• Build trusting relationships with clients while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
• Continue learning and stay current with humane, science-based training practices
• Communicate promptly with the team and clients regarding scheduling, progress, concerns, and follow-up recommendations
• Represent Sailor’s Dog Walking & Pet Care, LLC. with kindness, dependability, and a high sta

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional dog training experience
• Certification from a recognized dog training institution or program strongly preferred
• A passion for working with dogs and educating their owners
• Experience providing private, in-home training sessions
• A professional, reliable, and client-focused attitude
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout Annapolis and surrounding areas

Schedule

• Flexible, part-time opportunity with the potential to grow into a full-time position

Pay

• Hourly wage plus 15% commission for all individual training sessions and training packages
