Project Manager HVAC Commercial

About the role

Leeds Professional Resources is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The role oversees project execution, financial performance, scheduling, client relations, subcontractor coordination, and field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from award through completion.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout.
• Coordinate with owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and internal field teams.
• Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and submittals for compliance and constructability.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower projections, and cost forecasts.
• Monitor labor productivity, material costs, change orders, billing, and profitability.
• Identify project risks and implement strategies to minimize delays and cost overruns.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of project management experience in HVAC or mechanical contracting.
• Proven experience managing new commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, sheet metal, controls, and mechanical construction practices.
• Experience managing projects with $5M+ in mechanical scope preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling software and construction management platforms.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and change order management.
