Public Speaking & Debate Instructor

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Public Speaking & Debate Instructor to join our educational team in Burlingame, California. This part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students to enhance their communication skills in a supportive and engaging environment. As an integral part of our curriculum, you will foster students' confidence and abilities in public speaking and debate, preparing them to effectively articulate their ideas and arguments in various settings. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver interactive lesson plans tailored to students' varying skill levels in public speaking and debate. Conduct regular practice sessions and mock debates to enhance students' speaking and critical thinking skills. Provide constructive feedback on students' performances and encourage their participation in competitions. Organize workshops and guest speaker events to broaden students' perspectives on public speaking. Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate public speaking principles across various subjects. Engage with parents and stakeholders to communicate students' progress and achievements. Required and Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Education, Communication, or related field. Proven experience in public speaking, debate, and effective communication. Strong critical thinking abilities and presentation skills. Familiarity with instructional tools and techniques specific to debate and public speaking. Preferred: Experience in an educational setting, teaching students at various levels. This role is part of a collaborative and innovative team dedicated to student success. The instructor will report directly to the Education Coordinator and work closely with other faculty members to enhance interdisciplinary learning. Regular collaboration with administrative staff to organize events and competitions is also expected.
