Quality Assurance Officer

Job description

The Quality Assurance Officer will provide technical leadership and coordination for Tebelopele Wellness Center's Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) system, ensuring that program and service-delivery systems are systematically identified, analyzed, tested and resolved, using evidence-based improvement methods, particularly the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) approach.
The officer will work across all TWC sites to build capacity, with a focus on CQI tools using the following:

• Training staff on CQI concepts, tools, and methodologies.
• Build staff capacity in data use, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and PDSA cycles.
• Facilitate CQI learning sessions and peer-learning platforms.

The position will work closely with the Technical Director and the Department, programs teams, clinical teams and M&E management, to translate performance data and improvement challenges into measurable quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
CQI System Development and Coordination
• Develop, maintain and implement the organization’s CQI framework.
• Develop CQI tools, SOPs, guidelines, templates and reporting mechanisms.
• Establish and standardize CQI processes across TWC sites, through data collection and the annual CQI calendar.
• Maintain an effective CQI project tracker.
• Ensure CQI activities are integrated into routine program management and performance review processes.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement across the organization.

Identification of Quality Gaps
• The Quality Assurance Officer will work with M&E and program units to identify performance gaps using routine program data and quality gaps.
• Develop data-driven tools for quality monitoring.

Complaints and Compliments,
• Service utilization trends.
• Medical appointments and IT data.
• M& E and availability.
• Data integrity.

Root Cause Analysis
• The CQI technical officer will facilitate systematic analysis of identified problems using appropriate RCA tools, including 5 Whys.
• The officer will identify underlying causes and track corrective actions.

PDSA
• Support continuous improvement through PDSA cycles.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in quality management/public health, nursing, or other health-related discipline/business administration management.
Experience
at least 2-5 years of relevant experience in quality assurance or quality improvement.
