Remote Cybersecurity Analyst – Los Angeles, CA

Emerson Connect is hiring a Remote Cybersecurity Analyst to help protect client data and strengthen security across digital environments. This full-time remote role is based in Los Angeles, California, and offers an annual salary of $90000 per year.

About the role

Join a mid-sized cybersecurity firm serving a diverse range of clients. You will monitor and investigate security threats, improve security controls, and support compliance with applicable industry standards. Work remotely while collaborating with IT teams and helping maintain strong cybersecurity practices.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and incidents; analyze logs and reports to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Investigate security breaches and develop incident response plans.
• Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption protocols, and other security controls.
• Collaborate with IT teams to protect network infrastructure and improve the organization’s security posture.
• Conduct risk assessments and security audits, recommending improvements to security practices.
• Provide cybersecurity awareness training and guidance to staff.
• Document findings and develop information security policies and procedures.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field.
• At least 2–4 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related role.
• Experience using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
• Knowledge of network security protocols and ethical hacking principles.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.

Preferred qualifications

• CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or a similar cybersecurity certification.
