Role OverviewAs the Retail Manager, Argentina, you will be responsible for building Anker's offline retail footprint in the Argentine market. This is a 0-to-1 role: you will lead store openings, negotiate entry into major retail chains, set operational standards for branded spaces and shop-in-shops, and manage a growing team of in-store brand ambassadors (BAs).You will work closely with the Country Sales Manager and the LATAM marketing team to bring the Anker brand to life in Argentine retail — delivering a premium consumer experience that stands out in a market dominated by Samsung, JBL, and Xiaomi.
Key ResponsibilitiesRetail Expansion & Store OpeningsLead end-to-end new store openings in Argentina: site selection, lease negotiation, store design & fit-out coordination, staffing, and grand opening executionEvaluate and prioritize high-potential retail locations (shopping malls, high-street, electronics retail clusters) across Buenos Aires and key secondary cities (Córdoba, Rosario, Mendoza)Build business cases for each location — footfall analysis, rent-to-revenue modeling, competitor proximity mapping, and payback period estimationManage relationships with commercial real estate agents, mall operators, and landlordsCoordinate with China HQ on retail-related requirements such as store openings.Channel Partner Retail OperationsNegotiate and secure branded shop-in-shops, gondolas, and premium display spaces in major Argentine consumer electronics chains (Musimundo, Megatone, Frávega, etc)Develop and enforce visual merchandising (VM) standards — planograms, POS materials, product demo units — ensuring consistent brand execution across all retail touchpointsManage the operational relationship with key retail partners: quarterly business reviews, assortment planning, promotional calendars, and sell-out data sharingIn-Store Brand ExperienceDesign and implement the Argentine retail experience playbook — from store layout and product demonstration to customer journey and after-sales serviceTrain and certify in-store Brand Ambassadors (BAs) on product knowledge, brand storytelling, and sales techniquesDrive Net Promoter Score (NPS) improvement through mystery shopper programs, customer feedback loops, and continuous operational refinementPlan and execute in-store activation events — product launches, demo days, seasonal promotionsRetail Operations & Performance ManagementSet and manage KPIs per store and per channel partner: revenue per sqm, conversion rate, average transaction value (ATV), BA productivity, and inventory turnBuild a systematic retail reporting cadence — daily sales flash, weekly sell-out analysis, monthly business reviewsManage the retail P&L: store operating costs, BA compensation, VM and POS material budgetsPartner with supply chain and distributor teams to ensure optimal in-stock levels at retail points of saleTeam Building & LeadershipRecruit, onboard, and manage a team of Brand Ambassadors (BAs) and retail supervisors as the footprint scalesFoster a high-performance, customer-obsessed retail cultureConduct regular store visits and field coaching sessions
Qualifications & RequirementsMust-Have3+ years of retail management experience with proven store opening track record in Argentina — you have personally led at least 2 new store openings from site selection to first month of operationsDeep knowledge of Argentine retail real estate — you know the key malls (Alto Palermo, Unicenter, DOT Baires, Abasto), high-street corridors, and electronics retail clusters; you have existing relationships with landlords, brokers, or mall operatorsFluent English (written and spoken) — you will communicate daily with LATAM regional leadership and Shenzhen HQ in EnglishNative Spanish — for on-the-ground execution with local partners, contractors, and BAsVisual merchandising and in-store execution experience — you have built planograms, designed store layouts, or managed shop-in-shop fit-outsWillingness to travel domestically up to 30-40% for store visits and new location scoutingNice-to-HaveExperience with a global consumer brand (consumer electronics, mobile accessories, lifestyle, or premium retail) launching or scaling in ArgentinaMulti-brand or multi-category retail experience — managing distinct brand identities within a shared retail spaceExperience implementing retail POS / inventory management systems and using sell-out data for decision-makingFamiliarity with Argentine labor regulations for retail staff and experience managing shift-based workforcesExperience running in-store financing/promotional programs in partnership with Argentine consumer credit providers (e.g., Ahora 12, Ahora 18)
