Robotics Automation Engineer

The robotics automation engineer researches, designs, and develops automated robotic systems for server and rack handling, maintenance, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop automated robotic systems, including creating prototypes and conducting feasibility assessments.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to integrate robotic solutions into existing data center infrastructure.
• Install, calibrate, operate, and maintain robotic equipment for safe, dependable, and precise operation.
• Create and maintain documentation for design specifications, test plans, and maintenance guidelines.
• Stay current with advancements in robotics, AI, and automation to identify and implement technologies for efficiency improvements.
• Manage the automation development process, including project plans and timelines.
• Conduct quality control and function tests on robotic prototypes and systems; troubleshoot and debug malfunctions or errors.
• Program robots for specific tasks, including motion control, path planning, and task execution.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or mechatronics, is typically required.
• Experience with rack/server operations and technical infrastructure is highly valued.
• Experience with hardware components, sensors, and CAD software for mechanical design.
• Familiarity with industrial automation, including manufacturing processes.
• Analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly evolving technological landscape.
