Science Research Specialist

About the role

MGB Region is seeking a Science Research Specialist embedded at CENRO Camiling Tarlac. The position reports directly to the CENRO/PENRO and serves as MGB Regional Office for sale personnel.

Responsibilities

• Receive, assess, and act on concerns involving mining activities, geohazards, rain-induced flooding, landslides, and related incidents within the CENRO/PENRO area of responsibility.
• Determine whether complaints or incidents fall under the mandate of the Mining Sector or other concerned DENR sectors.
• Conduct initial assessment or investigation of Mining Sector concerns and prepare reports detailing issues, initial findings, and recommended actions.
• Prepare endorsement memoranda for matters requiring further action by the appropriate DENR sector or MGB Region 3.
• Submit monthly accomplishment reports to the CENRO/PENRO, copy furnished to MGB Region 3.
• Attend monthly meetings and coordination activities at MGB Region 3.
• Respond to queries and provide technical information concerning mining, geohazards, and related concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the CENRO/PENRO.

Requirements

• BS in Mining Engineering.
• RA 1080 (Board Passer).
• Technical report writing skills, analytical thinking, and a result-oriented approach.
• Willingness to be assigned at CENRO Camiling Tarlac.
