Job description
BPC is hiring a full-time Security Shift Supervisor in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Lead on-shift security operations and help protect clients, people, and property in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will report to the Security Operations Manager and work with fellow supervisors to maintain high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shift operations and ensure security staff follow established protocols and procedures.
- Inspect premises regularly and check compliance with safety standards.
- Manage, train, and support security personnel to strengthen performance.
- Prepare and submit accurate reports covering incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
- Communicate with colleagues and clients to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
- Review performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement practical strategies.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed, and maintain effective response plans.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Matric or an equivalent qualification.
- Valid PSIRA certification; this is mandatory.
- Three to five years of supervisory experience in the security industry.
- Experience managing staff and leading teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and recordkeeping.
- Strong report-writing, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Careful attention to detail.
