About the role

NY’s newly created Office of Digital Innovation, Governance, Integrity, & Trust (DIGIT) will operate as NY’s AI regulator and implement the Responsible Artificial Intelligence Safety & Education (RAISE) Act.

DIGIT is housed within the Department of Financial Services.

Tasks

• Will report to the Special Advisor and help oversee implementation of the RAISE Act, New York’s frontier AI safety law.
• Provide subject matter expertise and strategic counsel on options for policy and regulatory approaches.
• Draft legislation, regulation, and legal opinions.
• Work closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and civil society.
• Explore new regulatory tools and approaches.

Pay

• $180,562 - $223,625 (salary commensurate with experience)
• An additional $4,150 available for an NYC-based appointment.
