🔹 About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Data Engineer to join a local team in Columbus for a 6-month contract engagement. This is a fast-paced, impact-driven role ideal for professionals who can quickly integrate into an existing environment, deliver high-quality solutions, and operate with minimal supervision.
🔹Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows
Work extensively with Python and SQL for data processing and transformation
Develop and manage data solutions using Microsoft Fabric (including SQL and data pipelines)
Collaborate on data modeling initiatives including star schema and semantic layer design (SSAS / Power BI datasets)
Perform both development and testing activities to ensure data quality and reliability
Support reporting needs and collaborate with BI teams (Power BI exposure preferred)
Troubleshoot and optimize existing data processes for performance and efficiency
🔹 Required Skills & Experience:
5–7 years of experience in Data Engineering or related field
Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL
Experience working with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms
Familiarity with data pipeline and orchestration tools such as DBT, SSIS, or Dagster
Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, dimensional modeling)
Experience working with semantic layers (SSAS, Power BI datasets)
Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to an existing environment
🔹 Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to Power BI reporting and dashboarding
Experience in agile or fast-paced project environments
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
