Job description
RecruitPod Canada is hiring a Senior Estimator to join a leading Ontario-based development and construction organization in Toronto, Ontario. This senior-level role demands a seasoned professional with extensive technical expertise, commercial insight, and leadership experience in residential construction projects.
The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative and innovative team, playing a pivotal role in shaping project outcomes and driving company success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead estimating efforts for low-rise, mid-rise, and high-rise residential developments.
- Conduct early-stage cost analysis during design development and acquisitions to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership and construction teams to align project objectives and resource allocation.
- Enhance estimating standards, systems, and best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify scope gaps and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Analyze construction drawings to deliver detailed and precise cost estimates, building stakeholder confidence.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years of estimating experience in various residential construction projects.
- Expertise in conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimating.
- Proven commercial judgment and strong decision-making skills.
- Advanced knowledge of risk management and scope gap identification.
- Established network with subcontractors and suppliers in the Ontario construction market.
