Job description
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior GIS Developer to support TxDOT's enterprise GIS applications, custom solutions, and Esri ArcGIS systems.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in custom GIS application development and deployment
- Esri ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcSDE
- ArcGIS API for JavaScript (3.x and 4.x), ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python, and ArcGIS REST API
- JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML5, and CSS
- C# and .NET development
- Streamlit
- ArcGIS map service publishing, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- GIS application support, maintenance, and data analysis
- Preferred: Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL
- Preferred: Azure DevOps, Jira, Git, and GitLab
- Preferred: Agile methodologies
- Preferred: FME Desktop/Server and workflow development
- Preferred: ArcGIS Enterprise installation and configuration
- Preferred: IIS, AWS, AI prompt engineering, and AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code
- Candidates must be local to the TeXas area.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be comfortable working independently and collaborating with technical and business teams.
