Senior Kafka Engineer/Administrator

Tasks

• Kafka migration from on-premises to AWS with minimal downtime

Requirements

• 5+ years in Data/Platform/Infrastructure Engineering, including 4+ years managing Kafka in production
• Apache Kafka administration in production environments
• Hands-on experience with Cloudera and Confluent Platform
• AWS MSK provisioning, configuration, security, and networking
• Terraform and GitLab CI/CD for infrastructure automation
• Datadog monitoring, dashboards, and alerting
• Kafka internals: partitions, replication, ISR, offsets, and consumer groups
• AWS services: VPC, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, and PrivateLink
• Strong Linux, networking, Bash, and Python skills
• Nice to Have: MirrorMaker 2, Confluent Replicator, or Cluster Linking; Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, and ksqlDB; Kubernetes/EKS and Kafka Streams or Flink
• Must be local to Denver, CO or St. Louis, MO.
• Hands-on Cloudera and Confluent Platform administration experience is mandatory.

Schedule

• Hybrid – 4 days onsite per week
• Must be available to work onsite 4 days per week.
