Senior Ontologist

About the role

Enterprise financial services engagement.

Tasks

• Design, build, and govern enterprise business ontologies, semantic layers, and taxonomies for US lending products (commercial, retail, mortgage, credit risk).
• Model the end-to-end lending lifecycle: loan origination, underwriting, servicing, and collections.
• Map semantic ontology concepts and relationships to physical data assets in Snowflake and enterprise data catalogs (Collibra/Alation).
• Build and scale enterprise knowledge graphs using RDF, OWL, SPARQL, and graph platforms like Amazon Neptune.
• Collaborate with AI/ML squads to supply AI-ready data assets, enable semantic search, and support modern retrieval/LLM use cases.

Requirements

• 5+ Years in Ontology Engineering, Semantic Modeling, Knowledge Graphs, or Taxonomy Management.
• 5+ Years in Banking / Financial Services, with 3+ years specifically supporting US lending products or credit lifecycles.
• 3+ Years hands-on experience in Snowflake environments.
• Deep knowledge of semantic standards: RDF, OWL, and SPARQL.
• Working experience with AWS services (Amazon Neptune, SageMaker, IAM).
• Bonus: Familiarity with FIBO or BIAN frameworks.
