Senior Python Developer – Market Risk/Banking

Tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Python.
• Build backend services, APIs, and data processing solutions for financial systems.
• Work with large datasets, SQL databases, and complex financial data workflows.
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts, risk managers, and business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions.
• Develop and optimize applications supporting market risk, risk analytics, VaR, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
• Troubleshoot production issues, improve application performance, and maintain code quality.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.

Requirements

• 12+ years of overall IT experience with strong hands-on Python development expertise.
• Strong experience with Python, SQL, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience developing enterprise-grade backend applications and REST APIs.
• Banking or financial services domain experience is highly preferred.
• Prior experience with JPMC or Citi Bank is strongly preferred.
• Market Risk, VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis, or risk analytics experience is a major plus.
• Must be available to work onsite in Houston, TX.
• All valid work authorization types will be considered.
