Position Summary
Reporting to the Quality Leadership team, this position is responsible for overseeing quality-related activities within the assigned business area, ensuring compliance with organizational quality standards, regulatory requirements, and established quality management systems. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement, maintaining product and process quality, and supporting operational excellence initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise quality personnel to ensure operational objectives are achieved while maintaining established quality standards.Develop, implement, and enhance quality control methods, inspection processes, and testing procedures to support product and process excellence.Create and maintain quality plans, specifications, work instructions, visual standards, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with customer requirements and internal quality systems.Oversee inspection, auditing, testing, and documentation activities related to raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products.Ensure proper identification, traceability, evaluation, and disposition of nonconforming materials, components, and products.Manage quality records, including inspection and testing results, calibration documentation, statistical analyses, nonconformance reports, and corrective action records.Analyze quality performance metrics, including scrap, rework, product defects, and supplier-related issues, and develop recommendations for improvement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate customer complaints, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.Monitor and report quality performance indicators, providing data-driven recommendations to improve operational effectiveness.Participate in the review, development, and continuous improvement of quality management policies, procedures, and standards.Investigate process, equipment, and material-related issues affecting product quality and support the implementation of effective solutions.Lead efforts to identify, document, and resolve quality nonconformances while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.Evaluate the impact of process changes, new materials, equipment upgrades, and technological improvements on product quality and operational performance.Ensure employees receive adequate training on quality requirements, operational procedures, and best practices relevant to their responsibilities.Support internal audits, compliance initiatives, and quality system assessments, coordinating corrective actions when necessary.Evaluate, troubleshoot, and recommend improvements to inspection tools, testing equipment, and measurement systems.Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, cost savings, and increased operational efficiency.Promote compliance with workplace safety, environmental regulations, and organizational health and safety standards.Communicate organizational goals, policies, procedures, and expectations to employees and ensure consistent implementation.Support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives, including lean methodologies and process enhancement programs.Serve as a quality system representative when required, ensuring the effectiveness and ongoing compliance of quality management processes.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline; advanced degrees are a plus.Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing, production, or related operational environments.Experience working in manufacturing or industrial operations is preferred.Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.Strong computer skills and proficiency with data analysis tools and software applications.Knowledge of statistical methods and quality improvement techniques.Professional certifications in quality, process improvement, or related disciplines are preferred.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
