I'm partnering with a high-growth AI company that's building one of the most exciting autonomous AI platforms in the enterprise software space.
Their AI agents don't just answer questions. They execute complex, multi-step workflows, make decisions, and automate business-critical operations at scale. Following their acquisition by a unicorn parent company valued at $1.25B and exceptional customer growth (13x in 2025), they're expanding their engineering team and hiring multiple Senior and Staff Backend Engineers to help build the platform behind these AI agents.
This is an opportunity to work on large-scale backend systems, AI infrastructure, and distributed architectures while helping shape a product that's redefining how enterprises leverage autonomous AI.
What You'll Do
You'll take ownership of core platform capabilities that enable AI agents to operate reliably in production, working closely with product, AI, and infrastructure teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Building and scaling backend services that power agent orchestration, execution, state management, workflows, retries, idempotency, and rate limiting.Designing robust APIs, webhook/event interfaces, and integration adapters that support enterprise-scale AI applications.Architecting distributed systems with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, observability, and performance.Designing data models that support agent memory, workflow history, audit trails, permissions, and multi-tenant isolation.Improving platform performance, resilience, latency, and infrastructure efficiency while establishing engineering best practices.Taking end-to-end ownership of technical solutions, influencing architecture decisions, and mentoring other engineers.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for engineers who have built and operated complex production AI/ML platforms - not simply maintained them.
You'll ideally have:
6+ years of backend software engineering experience with a strong focus on distributed systems.Experience building and scaling production AI/ML platforms or AI-powered products.Strong experience designing distributed systems and scalable backend architectures.Experience building products from 0 to 1 or helping scale products through periods of rapid growth in an early-stage, hypergrowth environment.A product mindset with the ability to balance technical excellence with business impact.Experience with cloud-native architectures, APIs, integrations, and operating production services.TypeScript experience is beneficial but not essential. Strong backend engineers from other languages are encouraged to apply.
