Senior Software Engineer in New York City, NY | World Remote

World Remote is expanding its technology team in New York City to support international client projects focused on the U.S. market. We operate a unique proxy working model where engineers work as embedded team members with overseas clients, gaining direct exposure to U.S. projects, standards, and work culture.

We are looking for a highly committed Senior Software Engineer passionate about delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain robust data systems for global clients while collaborating closely with U.S.-based teams and receiving structured technical support from our leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust software applications using Java.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define software requirements and deliverables.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Mentor junior engineers and actively contribute to team skill development.
• Stay current with industry trends and introduce new technologies to improve processes.
• Contribute to architectural design decisions and best practice implementations.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with web technologies and modern development tools.

Compensation: $120,000 per year
