Role Description The Senior Systems Administrator is a full-time remote role responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the organization’s IT infrastructure. This position oversees server and network environments, manages user access and permissions, and ensures high system availability for manufacturing and business operations. Daily tasks include monitoring performance, implementing patches and updates, resolving technical issues, and coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders to support hardware, software, and cloud services. The Senior Systems Administrator also develops and documents IT standards, leads incident response and root-cause analysis, and contributes to technology planning to align systems with Union Beverage Packers’ growth and sustainability objectives.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong System Administration skills, including server configuration, virtualization, and operating system management.Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.Candidates should possess Network Administration skills, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network performance monitoring.Candidates should possess broad Information Technology skills, covering security best practices, backup and recovery, and cloud or hybrid environments.Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or similar credentials are beneficial.Proven experience in a senior or lead systems administrator role, preferably within manufacturing or similar operational environments.Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team.
