Job description
Join a shipping team in Lincoln, California, as a Shipping Support Specialist. This full-time, on-site position supports daily shipping operations through reporting, scheduling, documentation, and communication with supervisors, sales staff, and forklift drivers. Training and opportunities for internal promotion are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed daily production reports using multiple Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- Support the Shipping Supervisor with day-to-day shipping responsibilities.
- Answer phone calls, schedule truck appointments, respond to questions from sales and forklift teams, and route rail cars.
- Update production projection files and assist with weekly planer projections.
- Prepare certificates of origin, heat treat certificates, WWPA certificates, and other shipping documents.
- Help complete month-end physical inventories and prepare other daily and monthly department reports.
- Provide backup support for the log support desk.
- Meet established schedules and deadlines while maintaining accurate records.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to work well with a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, including creating and maintaining Excel workbooks.
- Accurate and efficient data-entry skills.
- Ability to follow schedules and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, dependable, organized, and willing to take on increasing responsibilities.
