Software Engineering Expert

About the role

This is a senior individual contributor role.

Tasks

• Own architecture and technical direction across services, integrations, APIs, data flows, and cloud environments
• Stay hands-on through prototyping, coding, code reviews, debugging, and technical problem-solving
• Guide delivery from requirements and design through release readiness and production support
• Improve reliability, observability, engineering standards, and operational readiness
• Coach engineers and technical leads while influencing across product teams
• Help teams adopt AI-assisted engineering practices with appropriate attention to quality, privacy, security, and verification

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial technical leadership
• Strong experience building and architecting complex, customer-facing applications
• Strong AWS, distributed systems, API, and integration experience
• Hands-on PHP and Laravel experience
• A broad full-stack background; TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js experience is an asset
• Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools
• Excellent communication and a track record of helping teams deliver through ambiguity
• Candidates at the top of the range should bring exceptionally senior, relevant experience.

Pay

• $150,000–$200,000 CAD base
