Space RCO Systems Engineer

About the role

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to provide System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO). The work supports development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions, with a focus on delivering operationally dominant space capabilities in response to Commander, U.S. Space Command requirements.

The Space RCO program office is a small, streamlined organization with dedicated acquisition support functions that enable rapid response for classified space programs. The role is part of a small, highly empowered team in a high-profile, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support development, design, building, and integration of advanced mission payload hardware and software.
• Provide in-depth background on cryptographic and communication subsystems to improve program office insight into state-of-the-art IC, DoD, commercial, and legacy space vehicle systems, requirements, and capabilities.
• Work across technology domains, including space-rated or qualified cryptographic and communications hardware and software, and integration with other subsystems, sensors, and processors.
• Apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts to highly classified systems.
• Communicate complex results effectively to management and executive leadership.
