Superintendent

About the role

Hays is seeking a Commercial Superintendent to oversee large-scale ground-up construction projects. The projects are valued at $40M+ and focus on education, municipal, and public-sector work.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site construction activities from project start through completion.
• Manage day-to-day field operations for ground-up commercial projects valued at $40M+.
• Develop and maintain project schedules to support timely delivery.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
• Enforce site safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Conduct site meetings with project teams, subcontractors, and owners.
• Monitor workmanship and quality control for compliance with project specifications.
• Identify and resolve construction issues, conflicts, and schedule challenges.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on budgets, schedules, and project objectives.
• Review construction documents and coordinate execution of project plans.
• Maintain daily reports, site logs, and progress documentation.
• Foster relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of Commercial General Contractor experience as a Superintendent or Lead Superintendent.
• Proven experience delivering ground-up commercial construction projects valued at $40M or greater.
• Strong preference for experience on education, K-12, higher education, municipal, or other public-sector projects.
• Demonstrated history of stable career progression and strong tenure.
