Job description
About the role
The Support Worker provides non-judgmental supportive services to families working with Foxvalley Counselling Services Inc., at Doreen's Place.
Doreen's Place is a program that advocates for reunification of families and provides them with a safe and sober living environment.
Tasks
- Provide support and guidance to families with multiple risk factors.
- Support families with bedtime and school routines, parenting, life skills, and connecting with formal and in-formal supports in the community to address addictions, traumas and domestic violence issues.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalency
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Knowledge and experience working with families who have experienced trauma, addictions, emotional and mental challenge
Schedule
- Casual; on-going
- Non-traditional hours which may include evenings, weekends and overnights
