Job description

Company is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Surgical Technologist II on a contract basis to join our medical team in Houston, Texas. This role is vital in supporting efficient and safe surgical procedures within a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a valued member of our reputable health organization, you will contribute significantly to improving patient outcomes and maintaining the highest standards of surgical care. Key Responsibilities Assist surgeons and healthcare professionals during surgeries by preparing and maintaining the sterile field. Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are sterilized, functional, and ready for use according to protocols. Handle instruments and supplies following strict infection prevention guidelines. Assist in transporting patients to and from the operating room, ensuring their safety and comfort. Manage inventory to maintain adequate supplies for surgical procedures. Document surgical activities accurately, maintaining detailed records of procedures and patient care. Collaborate closely with nursing staff and surgical teams to anticipate and fulfill surgical needs effectively. Required and Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited institution. 1-3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred. Proficient in assisting with various surgical procedures and knowledgeable in surgical terminology and techniques. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred. Experience with sterilization procedures and surgical instrument handling. Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
