Tax Manager

Title: Tax ManagerCompany: Global Investment Management PlatformCompensation: $125,000 - $160,000 base + 20% bonus Location: Remote with occasional travel to San Diego
Overview:This role sits on a lean, high-impact tax team supporting complex investment structures across multiple strategies. You'll own fund-level tax compliance while partnering closely with accounting, legal, and investment teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee end-to-end tax compliance for investment entities, including review of federal and state filings and investor reportingPartner with external advisors on domestic and international tax mattersSupport investor-facing teams on tax-related inquiriesManage withholding tax processes, including Forms 1042/1042-S and related filingsReview complex informational filings (e.g., 5471, 8621, 8865) tied to entity structuresAssist with tax reporting tied to entity formations, restructures, and dissolutionsManage tax notices and coordinate responses with internal teams and external providersHelp drive process improvements and support internal tax operations
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field6+ years of tax experience, ideally within asset management or fund environmentsPublic accounting background (Big 4 or similar) strongly preferredStrong understanding of partnership taxation and investment structuresAdvanced Excel skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:CPA or JDExposure to alternative investments (private credit, private equity, or similar)Experience working cross-functionally with accounting, legal, and external advisors
