About the role
Pacific Opera Project is seeking a Teaching Artist to lead six-week opera residencies for students in grades two through eight across Northeast Los Angeles. The residencies are part of the My First Opera, Opera Explorers, and ¡Cuentos Cantados! programs. The position begins in fall 2026 (September).
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging opera residencies to elementary and middle school students.
- Deliver curriculum designed to introduce young learners to opera.
- Work directly with students in classroom settings.
Requirements
- Classroom experience is required.
- A genuine love for opera and this art form.
- No teaching credential is required.
- Spanish fluency is a plus for teaching in the ¡Cuentos Cantados! program.
