Job description

About the role

At Optimum Partners, we’re looking for a Technical Product Owner who can bridge business needs and technical execution to help shape API and platform capabilities.

Tasks

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for API and platform capabilities.
  • Translate business needs into clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Define API requirements, including request and response examples, error scenarios, and integration workflows.
  • Prioritize features based on business value, technical dependencies, and developer experience.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews.
  • Coordinate integrations with third-party systems, partners, and internal services.
  • Maintain clear, developer-friendly API documentation, sandbox environments, and onboarding guides.
  • Collaborate with developers and partners to troubleshoot integration issues and improve API adoption.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API design.
  • Experience reading and writing OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
  • Knowledge of HTTP methods, status codes, headers, and JSON/XML.
  • Familiarity with API security standards, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, API keys, and TLS.
  • Exposure to API management platforms such as Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway, or Azure API Management.
  • Basic understanding of microservices, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and databases.
  • Experience testing APIs using Postman, Insomnia, or cURL.
  • Ability to read basic code in JavaScript, Python, or Java.
  • Someone who combines strong product ownership skills with technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and excellent communication. You should be comfortable working closely with engineering teams and translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable requirements.
  • You don’t need to be a software developer or write production code, but you should understand how APIs work and how systems communicate.
  • Conversational English is required.

Schedule

  • On-site.
