Key Responsibilities Set up and maintain traffic control devices and lane closures in strict compliance with WorkSafeBC and local safety regulations. Monitor and adjust traffic flow proactively to minimize congestion and enhance safety during peak and off-peak hours. Conduct routine inspections of traffic control setups, promptly reporting and correcting any deficiencies to maintain compliance and safety standards. Provide clear instructions to the public and coworkers, ensuring smooth operations and preventing accidents in work zones. Participate actively in safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes. Assist in developing traffic management plans tailored to specific project requirements, contributing to efficient and safe traffic control strategies. What We're Looking For Required: High School Diploma or equivalent educational background. Valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification or willingness to obtain certification within the probation period. Strong communication skills to interact professionally with diverse groups including the public, coworkers, and authorities. Basic knowledge of traffic management software and tools to support operational tasks. Preferred: Minimum of 1 year experience in traffic control or construction environments, demonstrating practical application of safety protocols.
