Job description
Kevin Bauter is hiring a full-time Welder/Fabricator for a small metal fabrication shop in Central Square, New York, serving the Syracuse area. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to build quality metal products in a supportive, team-focused shop committed to precision and excellent workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Weld and fabricate metal components to specifications and blueprints.
- Set up and safely operate welding machines, tools, and shop equipment.
- Inspect finished work for quality and compliance with applicable standards.
- Work with the owner and shop foreman to troubleshoot projects and improve designs for manufacturing.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized and follow safety procedures.
- Contribute to process improvements and waste reduction.
- Assist with training and mentoring junior team members as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of welding or metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Familiarity with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints, interpret technical drawings, and use a tape measure.
- Welding certification or related credentials are a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to collaborate with a team.
Compensation and Schedule
Pay: $60,000 per year. This is a full-time, on-site position. The role is based in Central Square, NY, in the Syracuse area, and reports directly to the owner.
