Accountant

About the role

Desai Hotel Group is seeking an accountant to help ensure financial accuracy and strengthen accounting processes across multiple entities. The role involves maintaining financial records, completing reconciliations and month-end close activities, reviewing financial statements, and identifying and correcting accounting discrepancies.

The position requires a strong accounting foundation and the ability to work independently across multiple entities. The accountant will review existing financial activity, identify prior-period issues, and ensure transactions and financial statements are accurately recorded.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review bank and balance sheet reconciliations across assigned entities.
• Support and complete month-end close activities for accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, with a focus on balance sheet accuracy.
• Review historical accounting activity and identify and correct prior-period errors or discrepancies.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.
• Code and record financial transactions accurately.
• Manage and support accounts payable activities as needed.
• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support intercompany accounting, including invoices and transactions between entities.
• Communicate across entities about accounting activity and outstanding items.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies independently.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready financial documentation.
• Support process improvements that strengthen accounting accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
• CPA certification preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
