ResponsibilitiesPayroll Management and ComplianceOversee and execute the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring compliance with Puerto Rico payroll laws and regulations.Validate payroll information, including employee deductions, taxes, incentives, and benefits, to ensure timely and accurate compensation.Manage the preparation of payroll reports and adhere to deadlines for reporting to government agencies and stakeholders.Accounting and Financial TransactionsManage the control of petty cash, preparation of purchase orders, and timely payment to suppliers.Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable, collaborating with Corporate Finance for proper transaction recording.Prepare and process bank transfers and check issuances.Employee Support & Customer ServiceServe as the main point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, benefits, and timekeeping.Provide empathetic and responsive customer service, effectively addressing internal stakeholders’ concerns.Oversee employees’ enrollment and updates to health insurance and retirement benefits.Compliance and MonitoringAct as the Payroll Compliance Officer, ensuring proper record-keeping and adherence to reporting deadlines for government filings.Conduct internal audits of payroll and benefit processes to identify and mitigate errors.Ensure all financial and payroll activities comply with current Puerto Rico labor and tax laws.Collaboration and Process OptimizationPartner with HR and Finance teams to streamline systems and improve operational workflows.Identify inefficiencies in payroll and accounting processes and recommend innovative solutions to enhance accuracy and efficiency.Contribute insights and feedback to team meetings for continuous improvement.
Required QualificationsExperience and Education:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar fields (or equivalent professional experience).Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting and payroll management.Technical Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.Familiarity with accounting software and payroll platforms.Working knowledge of Puerto Rico payroll regulations and tax compliance requirements.Soft Skills and Attributes:Strong written and verbal communication abilities in Spanish (bilingual English skills are a plus).Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Strong problem-solving skills.
