Role Description The Accounting Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Santo Domingo. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing journal entries, maintaining accurate general ledger records, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. The Accounting Specialist will reconcile accounts, monitor transactions for accuracy, and ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and other financial activities. The role involves using accounting software to record and analyze financial data, supporting monthly and annual closing processes, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to respond to finance-related inquiries. The Accounting Specialist is expected to follow established accounting standards, support audits, and contribute to continuous improvement of financial procedures.
QualificationsStrong foundation in Finance and Financial Statements, with the ability to interpret and prepare key reports.Proficiency in Accounting Software and solid experience with Journal Entries (Accounting) and general ledger maintenance.Well-developed Analytical Skills to review data, identify discrepancies, and support decision-making.Relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a corporate or international environment.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on-site with cross-functional teams.Familiarity with local accounting standards and regulations; experience with U.S. clients or GAAP is an advantage.
