Position Overview:The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting accounting and finance operations within a global distribution and supply chain environment. This role focuses on accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
The position includes hands-on responsibility for processing inventory and non-inventory vendor invoices, customer invoicing, payment follow-up, vendor and customer onboarding, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in accounting principles, exposure to US GAAP, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:Process and manage inventory and non-inventory vendor invoices related to procurement and supplier operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.Ensure timely and accurate customer invoicing, monitor outstanding balances, and follow up on overdue accounts.Prepare customer orders for invoicing, ensuring all required shipping and supporting documentation is received.Process vendor and customer onboarding, as well as changes to master data, following established procedures and control requirements.Ensure timely payments to vendors and collection of customer receivables according to established payment terms.Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting documentation.Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.Reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ledgers and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.Prepare and process journal entries for various accounting transactions.Complete assigned month-end closing activities and account reconciliations.Assist with financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and business decision-making.Support the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation, reconciliations, and financial information.Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, US GAAP, applicable industry regulations, and tax requirements.Assist in maintaining and updating accounting systems and financial software.Prepare process documentation and provide training to users on AP automation and approval processes.Identify opportunities to improve and streamline Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.Support process improvement initiatives, including automation and standardization of accounting activities.Monitor and analyze financial performance and contribute to cost-control initiatives.Provide support to Senior Accountants and Finance leadership with day-to-day accounting and financial operations.Perform special projects and ad hoc assignments as required.
Requirements:Minimum Requirements:Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.2–3 years of professional accounting experience, with exposure to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.Experience with US GAAP and general accounting principles.Solid understanding of accounting concepts and financial processes.Experience processing and reconciling accounting transactions accurately and within established deadlines.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Experience working with accounting or ERP systems.Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.Advanced English proficiency.Valid U.S. visa and passport with availability to travel for on-site training in the United States.Preferred Qualifications:Understanding of General Ledger accounting concepts.Experience with inventory accounting, warehousing, distribution, or logistics costing.Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or cost accounting.Experience working with high-volume AP/AR transactions within established service levels and deadlines.Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to develop financial models, reports, and analysis.Experience using Power BI or other reporting and data visualization tools.Experience working in distribution, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, or similar environments.Experience with AP automation tools and approval workflows.Knowledge of US GAAP and experience applying accounting principles in a multinational environment.
