AI Engineer

Our client builds AI-powered products for the healthcare cost and benefits space. That includes analytics that turn complex claims and pricing data into usable insight, and workflow tools that help their partners and internal teams act on it. They are post-Series A, growing fast, and looking for a Senior AI Engineer to bring agentic AI into these products.You’ll design and ship AI features that don’t just answer questions but do work: agents that pull data, run multi-step analysis, and drive workflows end to end.This is a hands-on engineering role. You’ll write production code, make architecture decisions within your area, and work closely with product and design so AI is built into the product rather than bolted on. You’ll help shape how they build agentic systems and raise the bar alongside the rest of the engineering team.

What You’ll DoDesign and build agentic AI features into their analytics and workflow products: multi-step agents, tool use, and orchestration that carry a task from request to result.Build AI-enabled analytics that turn claims, pricing, and operational data into insight their partners and internal teams can act on.Develop the retrieval, prompting, and model-selection strategies behind these features, and the guardrails that keep them safe and reliable.Build and iterate on evaluation and monitoring infrastructure so they can ship non-deterministic AI features with confidence.Work directly with product and design to shape how agentic and analytics features are prototyped, tested, and shipped.Contribute to the patterns the team uses for AI-native development, including how they version prompts, evaluate outputs, and handle agent behavior.Use and help refine AI-assisted development workflows that make the whole engineering team more productive.Mentor other engineers on agentic AI best practices.Partner with security on AI-specific risks in agentic systems, including prompt injection, tool misuse, and data leakage.What You Bring5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience, with at least 2 years shipping AI/ML-powered products to production.Hands-on experience building agentic AI, including tool calling, multi-step agents, orchestration, and the workflows that string them together.Deep production experience with LLMs, including prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), evaluation, and monitoring.Experience working with data and analytics; you’re comfortable turning messy real-world data into something a model and a user can reason about.Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to ship clean, tested, production-grade code.Strong product sense with a focus on user outcomes and workflows.Comfortable operating as a strong individual contributor who influences through execution and collaborates across product, design, and engineering teams.Nice to HaveHealthcare domain experience, especially with claims, benefits, pricing, or payer data.Hands-on experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as Claude Agent SDK, LangGraph, or Bedrock AgentCore.Experience building analytics or data pipelines that feed AI features.Track record of building AI evaluation frameworks and monitoring systems from scratch.
