Project Manager - El Alto

About the role

Barrick Mining Corporation is seeking a Project Manager accountable for leading the safe delivery of the El Alto Project through all levels of study work. The role critically assesses the proposed development’s technical, economic, financial, legal, political, social and environmental considerations to establish project viability.

The Project Manager leads the owner’s team and the EPCM across both sides of the Chile-Argentina border, and owns the integrated study schedule. The project is progressing from scoping work through pre-feasibility and feasibility, and into execution.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the feasibility study and lead construction readiness with visible safety leadership, embedding Barrick's safety culture across project teams, contractors and study partners.
• Ensure scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility study work is delivered safely, on time, within budget and in scope.
• Conclude study information and outputs into an overall project business case for investment committee consideration.
• Own the integrated project schedule, monitor activities, manage deviations directly with the team and raise them to steerco where necessary.
• Ensure appropriate governance and assurance structures guide the study, including stage gates and independent third-party reviews.
• Safely deliver maximum value through orebody knowledge while ensuring a sustainable business plan.
• Coordinate drilling, metallurgical test work, resource model updates, geotechnical work and mine planning so they feed the study on time, and ensure key permitting milestones in both countries are met.
• Manage key external stakeholders in Chile and Argentina in line with project expectations, timelines and Company Values.
• Identify project risks and implement effective responses.
