Role Description The Assistant Laboratory Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Cuenca, supporting the hospital’s clinical laboratory operations. Daily responsibilities include preparing and labeling samples, operating and maintaining basic laboratory equipment, and assisting with routine tests under the supervision of senior laboratory personnel. The role involves following established protocols, documenting results accurately, and helping to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The Assistant Laboratory Technician works closely with laboratory technicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and reliable diagnostic support for patient care.
Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills, including basic sample handling and familiarity with standard laboratory procedures.Candidates should possess proficiency with laboratory equipment and the ability to follow equipment operation and maintenance guidelines.Candidates should possess knowledge of quality control practices and adherence to laboratory safety and regulatory standards.Candidates should possess analytical skills and the ability to follow instructions and document results with attention to detail.Candidates should ideally have prior experience supporting laboratory technicians in a clinical or hospital setting.Relevant technical or vocational training in laboratory science or a related field is preferred.Effective communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team are beneficial.Willingness to follow ethical guidelines, patient confidentiality requirements, and hospital policies is essential.
