About the role
The Flock's client is a concentrated growth equity fund focused on enterprise software and frontier AI. The fund seeks private-company shares held by funds at the end of their life and former employees who have no path to liquidity. This is the first dedicated hire building its internal sourcing engine, combining human networks and software.
The role focuses on finding shares in private companies and building the broker network and tools to make sourcing repeatable. It is not a research seat or a deal-execution role, and does not involve building models for deals you did not source.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage relationships with secondaries brokers, largely over WhatsApp, and stay close to blocks before they are shopped.
- Reach out to funds that want to exit positions, including end-of-life vehicles, crossover funds under redemption pressure, and earlier-stage funds with marks they would happily crystallise.
- Identify and approach former employees of target companies for careful, credible conversations about liquidity.
- Map ownership across the segments the fund underwrites, including vintage, pressure points, and how to reach holders.
- Record conversations, blocks, and prices in the CRM to maintain a live picture of supply, demand, and pricing.
- Use internal AI agents for outreach drafting, WhatsApp parsing, and broker ranking, and identify what to automate next.
Requirements
- Experience originating or brokering transactions in private-company shares, such as secondaries, pre-IPO blocks, SPVs, or tender offers; alternatively, a demonstrated track record of building a pipeline from scratch in outbound BD at a fast-growing tech company or in executive search, with verifiable results.
- A track record of cold outreach with measurable outcomes, such as pipeline built, deals closed, or placements made.
