Job title - Senior DevOps EngineerClient Location - RemoteRemote work offering - 100%Client Industry - Consumer technology / online marketplaceContract Length - 12 months Contract type - Freelance / ContractProject focusJoin a growing engineering team supporting a high-traffic consumer web platform as it migrates its infrastructure to AWS. You'll help modernise and harden the systems that deliver the platform to customers, build internal tooling that speeds up how engineers ship code (including tooling that brings AI agents into the development and operations workflow), and support a WordPress-based site at scale.Key skills and Experience required8+ years deploying and supporting high-traffic, scalable web applications and services5+ years working in an AWS serverless environment (Cognito, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB)Strong TypeScript skills and hands-on experience with the AWS CDKProficient scripting ability (Linux/Unix shell, Python, Ruby, or similar)Hands-on experience with configuration management and deployment toolingStrong CI/CD expertise across native AWS services and third-party tools, including building pipelines and Git competencySolid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)Experience defining multi-account AWS strategies using Amazon OrganizationsExperience integrating SCM, code quality, code coverage, and testing tools into CI/CD pipelinesExposure to application and infrastructure monitoring toolingComfortable forecasting AWS billing using the pricing calculatorPractical experience working with AI coding agents and agentic engineering workflows as part of a modern delivery pipelineFamiliarity with Spec Driven Development for implementation, testing, and AI agent behaviourHands-on experience with AWS services including Serverless, CDK, CloudFormation, CodePipeline, GitHub/GitHub Actions, Lambda/Step Functions, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, DynamoDB, EventBridge, X-Ray, CloudWatch, WAF, and Lake FormationExperience with MySQL and ElasticsearchAWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect a plusExperience in a consumer-focused technology company a plusDomain knowledge in automotive, two-sided marketplaces, or e-commerce a plusIf this role is of interest, please apply with an updated CV.
