Summary of the desired profileExperienced professional in cloud data platform design, who has led the modernization of legacy ETL workloads to lakehouse architectures. Capable of making design decisions with incomplete information, documenting them in an auditable manner, and providing technical support to a team of up to 3 engineers/developers simultaneously.
Required experiencedata engineering/architecture.designing cloud data architectures (not just implementing other people's designs).Knowledge of Apache Spark in productive environments.Experience providing technical leadership to other engineers/developers (not necessarily with people formally reporting to them). Technical skillsDelta Lake · Apache Spark · PySpark · Medallion architecture · Lakehouse · Data warehouse · SQL Server · T-SQL · SSIS · Azure · Azure DevOps · CI/CD · Data modeling · Data governance · Data lineage · Databricks (desirable) Main ResponsibilitiesCritical Reverse Engineering: Analyze the actual production behavior of Alteryx workflows, SSIS packages, and SQL Server jobs, identifying undocumented dependencies, historical patches, and implicit logic.Validation of Analysis Agents: Audit the reports issued by the automated analysis agents against the original source, resolving discrepancies and blind spots.Design and Governance: Define and formalize ingestion patterns, partitioning, data typing, naming conventions, scalability strategies, and security policies in Unity Catalog.Approval of the Design Plan: Approve and formally respond to the plan.md before authorizing automated code generation.Blockage Resolution (NEEDS-HUMAN): Act as the highest technical authority in the face of exceptions, business ambiguities or limitations of the multi-agent system.Integration Approval: Act as mandatory technical approver in Pull Requests towards protected branches (preprod / main).
Desirable (non-blocking):Streaming (Solace, Kafka, Lakeflow), DevOps, experience with SAST controls (Fluid Attack or similar for vulnerability management).
