Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team focused on building scalable fraud detection and intelligence solutions. The team develops and maintains mission-critical backend services that reduce fraudulent activities across digital and retail platforms while enabling reliable fraud detection through APIs, event streaming, and large-scale data processing.In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka Streams, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, cloud-native applications and participate in an on-call rotation to ensure system reliability and availability.This is an excellent opportunity to work on mission-critical distributed systems while contributing to technical innovation and platform scalability.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot. Build distributed, event-driven systems utilizing Kafka Streams and other real-time streaming technologies. Design and develop RESTful APIs for seamless system integration. Develop and maintain event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka. Collaborate with DevOps and Platform teams to deploy, monitor, and maintain applications running on Kubernetes. Build and optimize cloud-native applications on AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues using Splunk and New Relic. Apply object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and software engineering best practices to develop maintainable and scalable solutions. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and ensure service reliability.
Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 3–5+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering. Strong hands-on experience with Java. Solid experience developing applications using Spring Boot. Experience with Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams. Experience with streaming and real-time data processing technologies such as Apache Flink. Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and distributed systems. Deep knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and software design patterns. Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications. Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for diagnosing complex production issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile engineering environment.
Preferred ExperienceExperience building highly scalable backend services. Experience working with cloud-native microservices architectures. Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies. Experience supporting production applications in mission-critical environments. Exposure to fraud detection, real-time analytics, or high-volume transaction processing is a plus.
