BM ToK and Social Studies Teacher

Role Description The BM, Theory of Knowledge (ToK), and Social Studies Teacher is a full-time, on-site position located in Heredia. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons in Business Management, ToK, and Social Studies for high school students, aligned with school standards and curriculum guidelines. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and instructional materials, teaching classes, assessing student learning through assignments and exams, and providing timely feedback. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, participate in staff meetings and professional development, and communicate regularly with families about student progress. Additional duties may include supervising extracurricular activities, supporting school events, and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and values-based learning environment.
Qualifications Strong knowledge of Social Studies and World History, with experience teaching these subjects to diverse learners.Demonstrated skills in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development that support clear learning objectives and assessments.Experience teaching Middle School students, with the ability to adapt instruction to different developmental and learning needs.Background in Business Management and Theory of Knowledge, or related fields, with the ability to integrate critical thinking and global perspectives.Degree in Education, History, Social Studies, Business, or a related discipline; advanced degree or teaching certification is an asset.Proficient classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, respectful, and engaging learning environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish proficiency.Willingness to support the school’s ethos and participate in community and character-building activities.Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
