Role Description: The Business Continuity Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Guatemala City, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery frameworks across Moder’s operations.This role oversees risk assessments, Business Impact Analyses (BIA), and continuity plans for key processes supporting financial services clients, ensuring organizational readiness and operational resilience in the event of business disruptions.The Business Continuity Manager will coordinate with cross-functional teams to document procedures, conduct training, and lead regular testing exercises and simulations. The role will monitor compliance with internal policies, client requirements, and applicable industry standards while maintaining continuity documentation, tracking remediation actions, and reporting continuity metrics to leadership.This position will also collaborate closely with Technology, Operations, and client-facing teams to strengthen organizational resilience, improve incident response capabilities, and support internal and external audits and regulatory reviews.
Responsibilities: Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Recovery frameworks across the organization.Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) to identify critical business processes, dependencies, recovery priorities, and operational vulnerabilities.Perform operational risk assessments and develop appropriate mitigation and continuity strategies.Develop, maintain, and regularly review Business Continuity Plans (BCP), Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP), incident response procedures, and related documentation.Establish and monitor Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) in partnership with Technology and business stakeholders.Plan, coordinate, and facilitate business continuity tests, tabletop exercises, simulations, and disaster recovery testing.Document testing results, identify gaps, track remediation actions, and ensure appropriate follow-up.Coordinate cross-functional responses during business disruptions and critical incidents.Partner with Technology teams to understand system dependencies, infrastructure requirements, backup strategies, and recovery capabilities.Collaborate closely with Operations to identify critical processes and ensure continuity strategies support business and client requirements.Monitor compliance with internal policies, contractual obligations, client requirements, and applicable Business Continuity standards.Support internal and external audits, client assessments, compliance reviews, and regulatory requirements related to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.Develop and maintain Business Continuity metrics, dashboards, risk reports, and executive-level presentations.Provide regular updates to leadership regarding organizational readiness, identified risks, testing results, and remediation progress.Conduct Business Continuity training, awareness sessions, and workshops for employees and key stakeholders.Partner with global teams across different locations and time zones to maintain consistent Business Continuity standards.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen operational resilience and organizational preparedness.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery Planning, Operational Resilience, or Operational Risk Management, ideally within financial services, BPO, outsourcing, banking, mortgage, insurance, or another highly regulated environment.Strong knowledge of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.Knowledge of recognized Business Continuity frameworks and standards, such as ISO 22301, or similar standards.Experience conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIA), operational risk assessments, and critical process mapping.Understanding of Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), incident management, crisis management, and disaster recovery concepts.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify operational vulnerabilities and prioritize mitigation strategies.Demonstrated ability to develop, document, maintain, and test Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.Experience coordinating tabletop exercises, simulations, Business Continuity tests, or Disaster Recovery exercises.Strong documentation skills with the ability to create clear procedures, continuity plans, executive reports, dashboards, and presentations.Effective communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work with Operations, Technology, senior leadership, clients, and other cross-functional stakeholders.Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to plan, execute, monitor, and track multiple continuity and resilience initiatives.Ability to work effectively with Technology teams and understand system dependencies, data backup strategies, infrastructure considerations, and recovery requirements.Experience supporting audits, client assessments, compliance reviews, or regulatory requirements is highly desirable.Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.Ability to work on-site in Guatemala City and collaborate effectively with global teams across different time zones.Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Systems, Business Continuity, Engineering, or a related field.Relevant certifications in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Risk Management, or related disciplines are considered an advantage.Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, is required.

Previous experience within the BPO, Shared Services, Financial Services, Banking, Mortgage, or Insurance industries.Experience supporting U.S.-based clients or operations.Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements within financial services environments.Experience working within a global or multi-site organization.Professional certifications related to Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Risk Management, or ISO standards are an advantage.Experience presenting Business Continuity strategies, risks, testing results, and recommendations to senior leadership or clients.
